Who we are
Advanced High School Filmmakers is an independent 10-week online course taught by Andrew Wells Ryder, Greta Díaz Moreau, Fiona Obertinca, Ari Shapiro, and Juli Del Prete. You can reach us at advancedhsfilm@gmail.com.
What we collect
- When you enroll: the parent or guardian's name and email, the student's name and email, which option you chose, and a record that you accepted the Enrollment Agreement. That record includes the date and time, your device's IP address and browser, and the version of the agreement you accepted.
- When you pay: Stripe processes the payment and sends us the amount, the date, and your name and email. We never see or store your card number.
- During the course: class recordings, and any work your student shares with us.
- When you email us: whatever you send.
We don't use advertising trackers, and we don't run analytics on this site. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
How we use it
To enroll your student, take payment, run classes, schedule workshops, and email you about the course. We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for marketing.
Who else handles it
- Stripe — payments and receipts.
- Cloudflare — hosts this website and stores enrollment records.
- Zoom — live classes and recording.
- Google — our email address, and the Drive folder where class recordings are stored.
Recordings
Recording is covered in detail in Section 3 of the Enrollment Agreement. In short: all one-on-one sessions are recorded for student safety, group classes are recorded so students can catch up, recordings are shared only with enrolled students and the instructors, and they're deleted within 30 days after the course ends.
How long we keep things
Recordings: deleted within 30 days after the course ends. Enrollment and payment records: kept as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes, then deleted. Emails: kept until we no longer need them.
Students under 18
This course is for high school students, and a parent or guardian enrolls the student and accepts the agreement. This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
Email advancedhsfilm@gmail.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw permission for the photo and video release. We'll do our best to respond within a couple of weeks. Some records, like payment records we need for taxes, we may have to keep.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
